Is a flu cough still contagious after 10 days?

In general we think it will not be contagious if the flu has been gone a day and there is not any fever. But as long as the fever exists, you are still contagious regardless of the time you are illness. As we known most flu symptoms such as the fever and sore throat, fatigue and sneezes will likely be gone in 7-10 days. However, the cough will be lasting 14 days or more. During this time if you have a fever again you should also consult with your doctor to check if there is a secondary bacterial infection or not.
